About | Krista Renwick

Krista Renwick is a recent graduate of the Master of Landscape Architecture program at the University of Manitoba. With a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Krista is interested in how landscape architecture can facilitate multi-disciplinary approaches that challenge conventions to address complex environmental and social concerns. Her practicum, Landfill to landmark: unearthing the waste[d] potential of an operation disposal site, grew out of an interest in the escalating environmental impact of waste production and the evolution of this problem as it relates to exponential population growth, consumerism and overconsumption. The practicum positions landfill design as an underdeveloped opportunity to shape the land and engage the community to expose and address the environmental issues resulting from human consumption. She continues to enjoy her role as a landscape designer for Little Bluestem Landscape Architecture + Design since 2018 and is currently working on filling her newly discovered “free time” since graduating.
